ATTENTION: ECOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL GROUPS

Award-winning New York-based choreographer Jennifer Monson returns to Miami with her newest meditation on birds, migration and the natural and the built environments.


JOIN US
Flight of Mind is a navigational dance project by Jennifer Monson that takes place in Miami, March 19-25, 2006. It. It is based on three migrations and site specifics events that followed gray whales, ospreys, and ducks and geese from 2001 to 2004.
 
Flight of Mind includes the following activities.

  • Simultaneous Environmental Talks and Discussions

Saturday, March 25, 7:00-8:00 pm on Lincoln Road, free
(meet at Colony Theater Box Off, corner of Lenox and Lincoln Road, Miami Beach)
Led by:

    • Alan Farago, a longtime writer on the environment and politics
    • Brian Mealey, a wildlife biologist from Institute of Wildlife Sciences
    • Karina Becerra, invasive plant specialist from Miami Dade College Environmental Center
    • Frankie Aranzamendi, Everglades National Park Ranger  


Meet these specialists and learn about current issues impacting South Florida, catch up on details of recent satellite tracking of ospreys and birds of prey, learn about the plants that are invading our land, and find out about what has happened to Everglades National Park since Hurricane Wilma.

    • 8:00-8:30 pm, enter from the theater alley in the rear and begin the Building Migration, ending in a seat in the theater.
