EVERGLADES FIELD TRIP – Everglades: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Did you ever wonder why it is so important for the Federal government and the State of Florida to make good on their promises to clean up the Everglades?  Do you want to know what the $880 million of your tax dollars is supposed to do to clean up the Everglades?  Do you want to know why we must make sure that this project is funded and that the promises to you, your children, your children’s children and future generations are kept?  Do you want to know why you should care?

WHERE: LEAVES FROM CORAL GABLES AT 8:00 AM, WITH GUIDED STOPS TO LAKE O AND BACK (Includes half-hour airboat tour!) AND RETURN BY 5:00PM WHY: LEARN ABOUT THE ECOLOGY OF THE EVERGLADES FROM DR. TOM LODGE, AUTHOR OF “THE EVERGLADES HANDBOOK,” AND, SEE FIRST HAND WHERE FRIENDS HAS BEEN FIGHTING TO PROTECT AND PRESERVE MARJORY’S “RIVER OF GRASS” AND WHY!

COST: $120/ADULT; $110/CHILDREN UNDER 12 – (Two high school and two college/law school scholarships available courtesy of an anonymous donor).
